Shaw Communications Inc (NYSE:SJR) to Release Q3 2008 Earnings June 27

Shaw Communications, Inc (NYSE:SJR) will release the third quarter earnings for 2008 on Friday, June 27.  The financial results will be made available on the company’s website at shaw.ca/en-ca/InvestorRelations/FinancialReports/QuarterlyReports/.

Shaw Communications Inc. is a communications company whose core business is providing broadband cable television, Internet, Digital Phone, telecommunications services (through Shaw Business Solutions) and satellite direct-to-home services (through Star Choice) to approximately 3.3 million customers, including 1.5 million Internet and 500,000 residential digital phone customers. It provides customers with entertainment, information and communications services, utilizing a variety of distribution technologies.

Shaw is organized into two business segments: Cable and Satellite. During the fiscal year ended August 31, 2007 (fiscal 2007), Cable generated 75% of consolidated service revenue and Satellite generated 25% of consolidated service revenue. During fiscal 2007, it completed acquisitions of several cable systems, including Whistler Cable, Grand Forks, Wood Lake, Lumby and Pender Island, all in British Columbia, as well as Norcom Telecommunications Limited operating in Kenora, Ontario.
