Susan Atkins, Former Charles Manson Follower, Set for Jail Release

The Board of Parole has the power to release Atkins so she can be with family when she dies. Atkins is terminally ill and doctors say she has less than 6 months left to live.

Atkins was convicted of the murder of actress Sharon Tate in 1969. She was apart of Manson’s cult, who were responsible for the murder of Tate and a wealthy Los Angeles couple.

She has been jailed in the California Institution for Women for 37 years. Atkins was recently transferred to a nearby hospital.
