The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) has announced rampant street closures Friday due to the severe floodings that have hit the state.
The road closings are in response to the massive amount of floods in the Midwest, causing road conditions to be abysmal.
The Wisconsin DOT and Wisconsin State Patrol announced Friday morning that they have closed I-39 northbound and I-90/94 westbound at US 151 (Exit 135 - Madison, WI) due to rising water at I-90/94 westbound at the Baraboo River (WIS 33).
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation maintained the closures of I-90/94 eastbound at WIS 82 in Juneau County, I-39 southbound at WIS 82 in Marquette County and I-94 westbound at the Crawfish River bridge west of Johnson Creek, WI.
According to the DOT, drivers traveling between the Twin Cities and Chicago should use I-94 to WIS 29 to I-43 to I-94. Drivers wanting to travel to the Northwoods from Chicago should use I-94 to I-43 to WIS 29 to I-39.
