Dutch Police Arrest Man Holding Hostages in Almelo City Hall

An armed Dutch man has been arrested by police following a nearly three-hour hostage standoff at city hall in the city of Almelo.

The man was reportedly upset after losing his restaurant license and had been involved in a dispute with council members over the situation. On Monday the man reportedly torched his restaurant and then drove to city hall where he set his car on fire.

As people inside the building came out to look at the car the man snuck into the building and grabbed four at least four hostages, one being a city council member.

Police sealed off the area and eventually reached the man but they have yet to release a report as to how the man was apprehended.
