Academy Award winning special effects artist Stan Winston died Sunday at the age of 62. Winston, who is best known for his work on the Terminator series, died of cancer in Los Angeles. It is unclear what type of cancer he died of.
Winston also worked on ‘The Monster Squad,’ ‘Alien Nation,’ ‘Jurassic Park,’ and ‘Edward Sissorhands.’ His most recent work was in the box office hit ‘Iron Man.’ He designed the physical suit for the film’s star Robert Downey Jr.
Winston was the second special effects artists to get a star on the Walk of Fame.
