Taliban Holds Man Accused of Adultery with Pregnant Widow

The Taliban has detained and whipped a man accused of having sex with a widow and getting her pregnant. The man, who has not been identified, is currently being held in a Taliban detention. His future is uncertain.

The widow, 47-year-old Sanam Gul was executed in Badghis province, Afghanistan Saturday morning. Her execution was ordered by the Taliban district governor, Mullah Abdul Hakim. Gul, also known as Sanam Bibi, was shot in the head by a Taliban commander identified as Mohammad Yousuf.
