Israel and Hamas Agree to Ceasefire

Israel and Hamas have reportedly agreed to a ceasefire after Egypt aided in brokering a deal that would begin on Thursday and end the violence surrounding Gaza.

Israel and the militant group Hamas have a long history of violence as regular attacks are launched between the border they share.

Hamas officials have said militants in Gaza would abide by the ceasefire but Israelis have taken a “wait and see” approach to the deal.

The ceasefire is comprised of stages with the initial stage focusing on the ceasefire and a partial reopening of Gaza’s borders.
