Chad Accuses Sudan of Launching Attack on Border Town

The tension between Chad and neighboring Sudan has continued to mount and on Tuesday the Chadian government accused Sudan of using its army to launch an attack on the border town of Ade.

Both counties have accused each other of supporting rebel groups within their country, an act that has resulted in constant clashes between government forces and smaller militant groups.

Rebel groups in Chad have claimed three towns over the past week and have said they would march towards the capital city of N’Djamena and overthrow President Idris Deby.  

In response to the recent attacks on Ade the Chadian government released a statement that stated, “The Chadian army's reaction will be on a level with the impudence of the Sudanese regime.”

Despite numerous peace deals between Chad and Sudan a lasting agreement has never been established.
