Searchers are looking for two women who went hiking in the Denali National Park and Preserve. The women were reported missing after they failed to show up for work at a hotel outside the park on Saturday.
Abby Flantz, 25, and Erica Nelson, 23, were last seen at the Savage River check station on Thursday. The pair are experienced trail hikers but park spokeswoman Kris Fister said they are not familiar with Alaska conditions.
Searchers have combed nearly 100 square miles of the park. Air crews have also been looking for the women. Denali National Park is nearly 9,400 square miles.
