Al Gore Jumps on Barack Obama Bandwagon, Endorses Democratic Presidential Candidate

Speaking at a rally in Detroit, Michigan on Monday former Vice-President Al Gore finally endorsed a presidential candidate as he threw his support behind Illinois senator Barack Obama and urged his Democratic Party supporters to unite for the 2008 general election.

Gore took a moment to tear into the current Bush administration, declaring the past eight years as being filled with “incompetence, neglect and failure.” He then transitioned into Obama representing the vehicle for change and went as far as to say he was similar to former President John F Kennedy in respect to his ability to inspire.

Many felt Gore’s support would have carried more weight had he endorsed Obama during the primaries yet he waited until New York senator Hillary Clinton suspended her candidacy before making any declaration.

Obama was standing alongside Gore at the Joe Louis Arena and expressed his gratitude for the support offered by the Democratic leader.
