Military Judge Dismisses Charges Against Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chassani in Haditha Killings

A military judge has dismissed the charges leveled against Marine Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani in relation to his alleged cover up in investigating the brutal Haditha killings in Iraq in 2005.

Chessani had been accused of failing to investigate the Nov. 19, 2005 massacre in Haditha that resulted in 24 Iraqi civilian deaths at the hands of US Marines.

The charges against Chessani were dismissed by Col. Steven Folsom without prejudice, meaning the case could be refilled.
