Lithuania Bans Soviet and Nazi Symbols

Lithuania’s parliament has passed a law that will ban the display of Soviet and Nazi symbols.

Included in the ban will be any emblems and badges that bear insignias emblazed with symbols, flags, images of former Soviet or Nazi leaders as well as national anthems.

Lithuania became the first Soviet republic to gain its independence in 1990, their independence came as the former Soviet Union collapsed and resulted in 15 countries becoming established.
