Children often complain that every summer, it’s the same old activities at the same old summer camps. SuperCamp, an exciting and innovative academic summer camp held in eight different locations across the country, is the solution to this problem.
Now in its 26th year, SuperCamp is designed to bring out the best in children, according to co-founder Bobbi DePorter. “We work in three main areas: physical, personal, and academic. The breaking of physical limits requires a lot of courage for many children. We have them doing outward bound-type exercises and teach them to break past some of their physical limitations. Many children don’t do well in school because they have bad relationships with their peers or family, so we teach them how to develop relationships with others."
Thousands of children from across the country will attend one of SuperCamp’s age-specific accelerated learning programs this summer. Youth Forum, designed specifically for children entering fourth or fifth grade in the fall, will be held this summer at
Kids going into grades six through eight are encouraged to attend SuperCamp’s Junior Forum, and Senior Forum for students entering 9th through 12th grade, each held at eight different colleges across the country for 10-day sessions throughout the summer.
