Body of Missing French Chef Found in Freezer

The body of a renowned chef was found Tuesday night in the Lyon, France apartment he once shared with his girlfriend. Police say the body of Jean Francois Poinard, 71, was found cured up in a fetal position inside a freezer.

Poinard, who was considered one of Lyon’s most popular chefs in the 70s and 80s, has been missing for 2 years. His 51-year-old girlfriend, Guylene Collober, has been charged with concealing a body. She may face additional charges after an autopsy is completed.

Police raided the apartment after Collober’s daughter contacted them and revealed her mother admitted “something unfortunate” had happened to Poinard.

Poinard once ran Restaurant de Paris and Panier à Salade in Lyon.
