Bus in Peru Plunges 820 Feet into Ravine, 24 Dead

A bus in Sayapullo, Peru plunged 820 feet into a ravine Tuesday, killing 24 people and injuring 27 others. According to reports, the bus driver, identified as Andres Zavaleta, lost control and was unable to steer away from the ravine. Zavaleta is being treated for injuries at a hospital in Truiillo.

The bus, which had a limit of 33 passengers, was operated by the Kurrungo bus company. Sayapullo is located in the La Libertad district of Gran Chimu Province.
