Scott Baio, the former childhood actor, told the media Tuesday that the initial terminal diagnosis given to his newborn baby was false.
Baio's baby girl Bailey tested positive for a potentially fatal disorder just one day after she came home from the hospital last November.
Baio, 46, and his wife Renee Sloan were given the diagnosis that Bailey, who was premature, might have GA-1, a metabolic disorder that can cause seizures and lead to coma and death.
Further testing took 10 weeks, but doctors returned to say that Bailey was completely healthy.
Baio and Sloan got married in December, weeks after Bailey was born. Baio is best known for playing Chachi Arcola on the sitcom Happy Days and the star role in Charles in Charge.
Baio recently appeared in his own VH1 reality series titled Scott Baio Is 45...and Single followed by Scott Baio Is 46...and Pregnant.
