Officials in Vancouver, British Columbia are calling the discovery of a sixth severed foot a hoax, claiming the black Adidas running shoe found Wednesday actually contained an animal paw.
Royal Canadian Mounted Policed issued a statement, saying “A full criminal investigation has been launched into this prank and the person or group believed to be responsible will face public mischief and animal cruelty charges.”
The mystery surrounding the discovery of five severed human feet has had authorities baffled, and several theories have surfaced, including suggestions that a serial killer is on the loose.
