Christina Szele Charged with Assault for Punching Flight Attendant

A New York woman was charged with causing disturbance on a JetBlue flight after she lit up a cigarette and punched a flight attendant. Christina Szele, 35, kicked and screamed when airline employees attempted to restrain following her violent attack on the flight attendant.

The JetBlue flight made an emergency landing in Denver and Szele was removed from the plane. She told investigators that she couldn’t remember punching the attendant or lighting a cigarette. Szele did admit to cussing and calling one attendant a “dumb mother f*cker.”

She told police that she had two beers before boarding the flight from New York to San Francisco and had three vodka drinks on the plane. Szele has been charged with assault and interfering with a flight crew.

Szele is being held in jail until her hearing on June 23.
