New Image Construction specializes in the construction of restaurants, typically franchise restaurants like Bojangles, Popeye’s, Subway and most notably Papa John’s pizza. New Image Construction has built almost 100 restaurants throughout the tri-state area.
The remarkable story of New Image Construction is the story of its owner, Michael Ghaida, a Lebanese immigrant who built the company through sheer determination and a firm commitment to his clients and employees. Combining his skills from years of successful restaurant management with hands-on experience in restaurant construction (he built his first restaurant, a Domino’s, completely by himself with little more than his bare hands) Ghaida has struck upon a unique path to success.
“I found a way to make money faster than real estate,” explains Ghaida. “A building can only appreciate so much in the course of a year but a business can double. Because I had experience in restaurant management I build my own restaurants, do heavy marketing, raise their sales, sell them for top dollar, pay off the existing loan and build a new store with money I have leftover and then I repeat the process.”
Today Ghaida and New Image Construction are the biggest franchisees in New Jersey. He serves as chairman of the board for both Papa John’s and Bojangles.
“Anyone who comes into the system has to go through me,” says Ghaida. “One call does it all and we take care of everything. We build it faster than anyone else, better than anyone else and we’ll help train your people. They’re getting a good value for the dollar. We use the same people each time and they know what’s expected of them and they stick to their task. I give them the blueprint, they know what to do and we can deliver a restaurant in less than 30 days.
