Curt Schilling Done For Year and Maybe For Career

Curt Schilling who has been named a big game pitcher for his outstanding performances in the playoffs is now out for the year and is doubtful to ever throwing another pitch in the big leagues again. He seemingly was getting better and was aiming at returning at the end of July to give the Red Sox another fresh arm in the rotation now will be going under the knife.

The Red Sox have done very well far this season as one of the better teams this season even though they have missed one of their big guns in Schilling in the rotation. The Red Sox however know that having Schilling on the team would only make them stronger for the long run and make them a tougher team to beat in October.

Schilling had been sideline by shoulder problems and is now experiencing biceps tenodesis and wants his shoulder to be looked at thoroughly for any more damage it may have.

Schilling believes that undergoing the surgery right now will possibly leave open a possibility that he could return in 2009 but did say that this might be the end of his career. Lifetime in the postseason, Schilling is 11-2 with a 2.23 ERA in 19 starts. He has won 216 games in the majors and has won 3 World Series Rings.
