Hillary Clinton to Join Barack Obama on Campaign Trail

While many of her supporters have sworn to jump ship and pledge their allegiance to Republican presidential nominee John McCain next week New York senator Hillary Clinton plans to hit the campaign trail with Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama in an effort to unite the party.

Clinton and Obama were involved in a hotly contested battle throughout the Democratic presidential campaign with Obama finally tallying enough delegates to earn the party’s nomination. The outcome upset scores of Clinton supporters who have claimed their candidate was treated unfairly by the media and have since said they would not support Obama but rather cast a ballot for McCain.

Now Clinton plans to close ranks within the party and has urged her supporters to back Obama. She will introduce Obama to her financial backers as well as support his candidacy for the presidential position.

Clinton and Obama are believed to have set a June 27 date to begin campaigning but it remains unclear how elaborate the partnership will become.
