Baby Declared Stillborn Awakes One Day Later

A Mumbai, India family was preparing to bury their daughter one day after she had been declared stillborn but moments before arriving at the cemetery they heard gurgling sounds and discovered the baby to be alive.

The mother had experienced a difficult pregnancy and suffered severe convulsions and high blood pressure so doctors placed her on powerful medications. At seven months she went into labor and doctors delivered the girl but declared her stillborn.

The following day the family was taking their baby daughter to be buried at the cemetery when she began making sounds. Doctors believe the medication that the mother had been taking had affected the baby and when they wore off the baby awoke.
