Israeli Military Rehearsing Iran Attack

Israel has taken active military measures to prepare for a possible attack on Iran due to its refusal to stop uranium enrichment that could be used to produce nuclear weapons.

For nearly two months Israel has undergone military exercises that have appeared to be leading to a preemptive strike against their neighbor. Exercises have included F16 and F15 jets, helicopters and ground troops.

The UN has demanded Iran halt its uranium enrichment yet the country has refused, insisting their nuclear facilities were for peaceful purposes. In response to their refusal the UN has passed a series of sanctions that have done little to deter Iran.

Israel has assumed a more aggressive stance towards Iran and has threatened to engage in a unilateral attack if Iran doesn’t end their program.

On June 4 Prime Minister Ehud Olmert warned that drastic measures would be taken to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
