France and Algeria Sign Nuclear Deal

France and Algeria have signed a nuclear deal that will now partner the country and former colony in a peaceful operation which will bring the two sides together for training and research projects.

The move could lead to nuclear power plants being built in Algeria.

French Prime Minister Francois Fillon was in Algeria to sign the accord that is being seen as a step towards reconciliation between the two countries that have experienced hostile relationships in the past.

Speaking after the agreement was signed Fillon stated, “There is no clearer signal of France's intention to establish an exceptional partnership with Algeria.”

Algeria fought a bitter war with their former colonizer eventually winning their independence in 1962.
