MDC to Hold Rally in Harare
Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai has said he will attend a political rally for his Movement for Democratic Change Party on Sunday just days before he faces off against Robert Mugabe in
The rally will be held just one day before the MDC reveals whether they will continue their campaign as evidence continues to mount supporting the belief that the election will be neither free nor fair.
Tsvangirai secured more votes than Mugabe in the March 29 voting yet did not secure enough votes to avoid a run-off. Since that date MDC supporters have been the target of widespread violence and intimidation, much of that coming from the ruling ZANU-PF party.
According to Mugabe those claims are only being made “so that they can later say the elections were not free and fair. Which is a damn lie.”
Mugabe has said, “Only God who appointed me will remove me - not the MDC, not the British.” Mugabe has ruled
