Typhoon Fengshen Devastates Philippines, Hundreds Feared Dead
At least 155 people have died and several hundred more are feared dead after Typhoon Fengshen ravaged the
Several hundred on land have been listed as missing and more than 740 passengers aboard a ferry are unaccounted for as rescuers continue to search for survivors.
Entire communities were underwater on Sunday after heavy rains caused severe landslides and major flooding.
Only four people aboard the MV Princess of Stars have been found alive since Saturdays pounding waves caused the ship carrying 626 passengers and 121 crew to capsize. Efforts to reach the ship showed no sign of survivors but a more detailed search would be launched on Monday when the waters calm.
There had been reports that up to 100 survivors may have drifted ashore but those accounts have not been confirmed.
