Intel, the world’s largest chipmaker settled its litigation with Federal Trade commission on Aug 4, 2010 and denied allegations that it had engaged in improper and uncompetitive behavior. A New York attorney had earlier in November accused Intel of giving price discounts to one of its biggest customers, Dell. Last year too Intel had similar problems with AMD and ended up settling the dispute with $1.25 billion. This was apparently FTC’s third investigation against Intel.

According to a news, the decline in the demand of personal computing solutions led to a decrease in the price of Intel and other companies engaged in the technology sector. According to analysts, the downfall was greater than they had expected for the July quarter. Intel however has stated that it expected a surge in the sales in the coming quarters and further more increase in 2011.

Intel’s stock was downgraded on 10th August to Equal weight from Overweight at Barclays Capital. The share price took a downturn following the announcement.
