No Survivors Found in Capsized Philippine Ferry

On Tuesday divers made their way into the capsized seven-story ferry that was hammered by Typhoon Fengshen and found nothing but bodies.

The exact number of those trapped inside the vessel won’t be known until a recovery effort is made but Philippine officials have speculated that they would find no survivors inside the MV Princess of Stars.

There were more than 800 people aboard the ship when it was slammed by heavy waves over the weekend. Unable to remain stable, the ship listed and eventually capsized leaving those who did not jump from the ship to remain trapped inside it.

Less than 40 survivors from the ship have been found, the majority of whom were found some 80 miles away from the ship.

At least 163 people on land were killed by the massive flooding and landslides caused by Typhoon Fengshen and the death toll will jump when the bodies are recovered from the ship.
