Israeli Border Town Hit by Palestinian Rocket Fire

Less than a week after Israel and Hamas signed a ceasefire members of Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip fired two rockets directed at the Israeli border town of Sderot.

One of the rockets hit a home while the second fell in an open field but no casualties were reported.

Israel and Hamas signed a ceasefire six days ago but the West Bank had not been part of the truce.

According to a report from BBC news the attack had been in retaliation for an earlier raid by Israel that killed a senior fighter.
