Close-Up TV News Recognizes the Village at Waterman Lake

Close-Up TV News recognizes The Village at Waterman Lake for its unparalleled dedication to the care of its residents.

The Village at Waterman Lake offers the most comprehensive continuum of care for Rhode Island’s retired senior citizen community. Its 30-acre campus includes a retirement community, assisted living facility and skilled nursing.

When The Village at Waterman Lake first opened its doors in 1990 assisted living was a brand new concept; there are now about 60 assisted living facilities in the state but the Village at Waterman Lake remains Rhode Island’s largest retirement community with a 288-bed campus. The Village at Waterman Lake provides its residents with basically everything they’ll need to continue to live as independently as possible and enjoy their twilight years with purpose and dignity.

The Village at Waterman Lake is known for its extremely diversified activities program. Residents are free to do whatever they please but the Village at Waterman Lake is committed to fostering an environment of social interaction. Waterman Lake provides its residences with all different types of entertainment including classical guitarists, rock ‘n’ roll oldies bands, vocalists, barber shop quartets, folk singers, internationally acclaimed pianists. Each July and August they hold their Sunset Concert Series, which has music on the hill the last Wednesday of every month which can be a full piece orchestra or a ten-piece band that will perform on the green overlooking picturesque Waterman Lake.

But the Village of Waterman Lake’s true benefit is its continuum of care. The Village at Waterman Lake’s boasts the two best nurse managers in the state for assisted living. If a resident demonstrates declining health these nurse managers monitor the situation to make sure if it is a matter of declining health and if they require additional services. In the event it is a matter of declining health they will inform the family to set up a meeting to discuss the resident’s progress and what they’re recommending in the way of services.
