Kanye West Defends Himself, Calls Bonnaroo Insults “Most Offended I’ve Ever Been”

Rap superstar Kanye West took his time in responding to the negative feedback he received for his performance at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival on June 15 but true to form the controversial artist went to the extreme stating, “This Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I've ever had in my life," West wrote. "This is the most offended I've ever been ... this is the maddest I ever will be.”

West was addressing the criticism he faced due to a long delay in his scheduled performance at the annual Tennessee event and while he blamed the issue on “idiots who didn't really have the capacity to really put on this show properly” those in attendance had a different opinion.

Forced to wait more than an hour and a half for west to take the stage fans began chanting “Kanye sucks” and flung glow sticks and beer at the stage.

Much of the delay could be attributed to the elaborate stage setting West had organized and having that structure erected was further delayed due to problems dismantling the stage from the previous band, Pearl Jam.

According to West the main issue was the festival’s failure to defend him in the press.

In his blog West declared, “It broke my heart that I couldn't give these fans 'Stronger' in its greatest form, I'm sorry to everyone that I didn't have the ability 2 give the performance I wanted to. I'm sorry.”

West was originally scheduled to take the stage at 8:15 pm on June 14 but because he had glow in the dark effects incorporated in his show he asked that his time be pushed back. Organizers opted to give him the 2:45 am time slot but he didn’t take the stage until 4:15 am.
