Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama and his fiercest rival Hillary Clinton partnered in Unity, New Hampshire on Friday as a show of solidarity within the Democratic Party.
Under the banner “Unite for Change” Clinton encouraged a boisterous outdoor crowd to end any in-party bickering and work to ensure Obama defeated Republican John McCain in the November election.
Once again Clinton equated a McCain presidency to a George Bush third term and told the crowd if they wanted more of the same then they should cast their ballot for the Arizona senator but if they wanted change they should vote Obama.
The New York senator brought a bit of laughter to the crowd when she said McCain and Bush were like the same side of a coin and when added up they don’t amount to much change.
Following Clinton’s remarks Obama took the podium and once again spoke about change but spent a good deal of time trying to show the gap between himself and Clinton has been bridged and the party could be united for their cause.
Much has been said about the relationship between Obama and Clinton and what role she will play in his candidacy. On Friday Obama made it clear that he appreciated the support of Clinton and expressed respect for the type of leader she has become.
