Four Killed in Sudanese Plane Crash, President Bans Aircrafts and Fires Head of CAA

A Russian made cargo plane carrying four crew members crashed shortly after takeoff near Khartoum, Sudan on Monday killing all members on board. It was the fourth deadly crash related to aircrafts in the past two months in the country.

In response to the crash President Omar al-Bashir fired the head of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and has ordered a complete investigation into the four accidents.

Al-Bashir also ordered the ban of all Antonov and Ilyushin passenger and cargo planes. Earlier this month a passenger plane burst into flames shortly after landing in Khartoum killing 30 people.
