GA Tech’s Jarrard Tarrant Arrested on Rape Charges

Georgia Tech football player Jarrard Tarrant has been arrested on rape charges. A woman told Dekalb County police that the freshman raped her in the undergraduate living center on April 25.

A two month investigation into the claims was conducted. Lab results are pending. “The activity was consensual. The circumstances are such the surrounding facts will show no sexual activity took place against the will of the female,” says Tarrant’s attorney.

Tarrant has been suspended from the football team. “These charges filed against Jerrard are something we take very seriously. He has been suspended from the team indefinitely, pending the outcome of the legal proceedings,” said Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson.
