'The Other Guys'--Movie Review
YES THIS HAS SPOILERS. STOWPID.
So I left WooEB early yesterday so I could go watch 'The Other Guys.' ...I regret it. I KNEW I SHOULDN'T HAVE LEFT WORK EARLY. Karma.
The movie's about these 2 cops, played by Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. Wahlberg isn't known for his work in comedy movies... because he's not funny. He played the angry cop in 'The Other Guys' but I still fail to understand why he was so angry and why, despite being angry and manly and all, he still manages to be an undercover pansy the whole time. And while Ferrell is a timid, socially retarded, "plays-it-safe" kinda guy, he manages to be a criminal genius who lands really hot girls.
What I feel most about this movie is that the characters weren't really developed. Will Ferrell was really safe, but crazy, really book-stupid but street smart, and an ex-pimp. Mark Wahlberg was a terrible cop but then a really good cop and it was JUST CONFUSING. Everything I said about each character can easily be refuted, too. There's like a random scene in the movie where Mark Wahlberg shows off his fighting skills but you don't even realize it's coming. There are NO clues at all to his skills. I just feel like Adam McKay and Chris Henchy really didn't confer with each other at all and just wrote a bunch of bullshit. That movie was so bad, I want my freakin money back.
Funniest part in the movie--when Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson "aimed for the bushes." Probably the 2 funniest characters.... and they died like 20 minutes into the movie. Lame.
