Samuel Israel Turns Himself in to Authorities

A hedge fund manager convicted of defrauding investors of Bayou Management out of $450 million has turned himself in to Massachusetts authorities. Samuel Israel disappeared last month hours before he was scheduled to show up at a jail to serve his sentence.

Israel’s SUV was found on a New York bridge with the phrase ‘Suicide is painless’ written on the hood.

 

The 48-year-old surrendered Wednesday while on the phone with his mother. Last week, Israel’s girlfriend Debra Ryan was arrested and charges with aiding and abetting Israel in his disappearance. Ryan faces up to 10 years in jail.
