3 Killed, at last 10 Injured in Grenade Attack in Philippines

Three people were killed and at least ten more injured after a grenade exploded in a bakery shop in the southern island of Mindanao in the Philippines.

According to military officials members of the communist rebel group New People’s Army (NPA) carried out the attack after the owner of the shop failed to pay his “revolutionary taxes.”

Reports indicated that five men approached the store on two motorcycles and hurled the grenade in the store before speeding off.

The NPA is considered the military arm of the Communist Party of the Philippines.
