Thailand Helicopter Crash Leaves 5 Dead

A Thai government helicopter carrying senior officials crashed Tuesday in northern Thailand. All five people onboard were killed. The helicopter took off from Phitsanulok province and went down in a remote jungle area of Nan province.

Authorities believe heavy rainstorms caused the crash. Among the dead is Thailand’s Permanent Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment, The inspector-general of the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department and a senior adviser of the Royal Household Bureau.
