Teen Charged in Death, Sexual Assault of Eight-Yr Old Dymia Janae Woody

A 14-year old has been charged with the death and sexual assault of eight-year old Dymia Janae Woody in South Carolina on Wednesday.

The teen was charged Wednesday with murder and first-degree criminal sexual conduct in the death of Woody, who was reported missing Monday.

Deputies found her body early Tuesday in the closet of a bedroom in an abandoned mobile home not far from Woody's house.

An autopsy showed Woody died of asphyxia and that she likely died while in a position that prevented her from breathing, such as with someone kneeling or sitting on her chest.

The teen's name has not been released because of his age, but it was reported that he lived in the neighborhood and authorities believe he knew Dymia.

The teen is being held in a juvenile detention facility pending a court hearing Thursday.
