Craigslist Killer Philip Markoff Wrote Fiancee’s Name in Blood

Philip Markoff, who was dubbed the Craigslist Killer after allegedly murdering a masseuse he hired off the Web site, wrote his ex-fiancee’s name in what appeared to be blood on the wall of his jail cell. Massachusetts prosecutors Markoff wrote “Megan” and “pocket” on the wall before taking his own life.

Investigators believe “Megan” refers to Markoff’s ex-fiancee Megan McAllister. It is still unclear what “pocket” means.

 Markoff was found dead in his jail cell Sunday. He used a pen to stab himself in major arteries in his neck and leg before putting a plastic bag over his head.

The 24-year-old onetime medical student was awaiting trial for the 2009 murder of Julissa Brisman, a masseuse he found on Craigslist, and the armed robbery of a Las Vegas woman in Boston. He pleaded not guilty to both charges.
