Poland’s Prime Minister Rejects U.S. Terms for Missile Defense Shield

Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk has rejected the U.S,’s latest offer to host a missile defense shield after noting the terms of the deal did not satisfy the needs of his country.

The United States has expressed a desire to place ten interceptors in Poland as a means of defense yet conditions of the installation have yet to be agreed upon.

Speaking at a news conference after rejecting the latest offer Tusk stated, “We are ready to co-operate but we are waiting for an answer from the American side.”

The plans have brought strong criticism from Russia and China who believe the move would tilt the balance of power in Europe. Russia has gone as far as saying if the missiles were installed they would be forced to target the area.
