Drug Rehab Educates in July 4th Activities

Freedom from Drug Addiction Stressed

When our forefathers wrote the Declaration of Independence, delivering us from the bondage of unfair taxation, they had no idea that another kind of bondage lay ahead for many citizens of this “free” nation.

Where someone is tormented with drug addiction and does not have the freedom of thought and actions beyond feeding that drug addiction, there is no freedom, no matter what is afforded by their country.

Narconon Drug Rehab in Georgia, a non-traditional drug treatment program, celebrated the 4th of July at the July 4th Festival in Norcross, GA, encouraging people to abstain from drug abuse and live a drug-free life.

Mr. Gordon Weinand, Public Relations for Narconon Drug Rehab Georgia, spoke to hundreds of participants as they visited booths set up to celebrate our Nation's Independence.

“We received a lot of recognition for the work we do in the community,” stated Mr. Weinand. “If we work together we will help children grow up in a drug free environment, and our communities will be a safer place. Our children depend on us to give them a safe environment to grow up in.  At Narconon Drug Rehab, we know that while we educate kids about the dangers of drugs, we must teach them basic life skills at the same time.  This gives them a more complete recipe on how to live a drug free and prosperous life.”

Hundreds of Narconon Drug Rehab Frisbees were passed out, each with an anti-drug message. Children and adults had fun as they three the frisbees around and learned about drug prevention.

"I spoke with several political figures and church members who were enjoying the 4th of July event," continued Mr. Weinand. "The reception was great; many had heard about Narconon Drug Rehab and were pleased with the work we are doing in drug rehabilitation and drug education. One organization who works with returning veterans will be working with us to provide aid to thise vets returning who have a drug problem."

One city official congratulated Mr. Weinand on Narconon's work and stated more people needed to be involved in drug education and prevention.
