Tropical Storm Bertha Could Evolve into Atlantic’s First Hurricane of Season

With sustained winds nearing 50 mph and its move towards warmer water experts are watching Tropical Storm Bertha closely, predicting its evolving conditions could make it the Atlantic’s first hurricane of the season.

Tropical Storm Bertha was an estimated 1,200 miles east of the Leeward Islands at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday and moving west at 21 mph.

Bertha is expected to continue to gain strength yet it is still unknown when or if it will hit land.
