Well-known gospel singer and New York pastor Timothy Wright was critically injured in a car accident that killed his wife Betty Wright.
John Pick, 44, was driving the wrong way on Interstate 80 in Greene Township, Pennsylvania when he crashed into Wright’s vehicle. A third car was involved and a passenger in that car was in fair condition. Pick was killed in the crash as well as Betty, 58.
The 61-year-old pastor was critically injured as was his grandson D.J. Wright, 14. Both were taken to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Wright is the pastor of Grace Tabernacle Christian Center in New York City. He has released more than a dozen gospel albums. Wright and his wife have five sons.
His church received calls from around the country after news of the accident broke.
