Iran Test Fires Missiles, Threatens Israel with Strike if Nuclear Program Attacked

Iran test-fired nine missiles early Wednesday morning in what was considered a warning to Israel that any attack on Iranian nuclear sites would be countered with a missile strike.

Following the testing Iran’s commander of the Revolutionary Guards’ air force, Brig Gen Hoseyn Salami, issued a stern statement to Israel threatening, “The enemy must not repeat its mistakes. The enemy targets are under surveillance.”

The missile-testing included long-range and middle-range weapons that could strike enemy territory including Tel Aviv. Included in the testing was the new version of the Shahab-3, a missile capable of hitting a target more than 1,200 miles away.

Israel has said they would strike nuclear installations in Iran, believing the sites are not being used for civilian energy operations but for developing military weapons.
