Alicia Marie, Fitness Model, Admits "Friendship" with A-Rod

Alicia Marie, a famed fitness model, becomes the latest woman to claim to have spent time with Alex Rodriguez on Wednesday.

Alicia Marie, the 2004 Ms. Bikini Universe, claimed that she had spent a lot of time with A-Rod, but the two did not have sex.

"I am well aware that people will assume the absolute worst here, but Alex was, and to this day remains, just a close friend," she wrote in an e-mail responding to the New York Daily News. "Friends hang out together in each other's apartments!"

Marie said Rodriguez frequently visited her Chelsea apartment a few years ago to lend a sympathetic ear "when I had just gone through a separation and divorce."

Marie, who was previously known as Alicia Denson, used to date John Rocker, the hated former Atlanta Braves pitcher. Marie currently lives in Atlanta and graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in neuroscience.

Marie has been featured in several magazines including modeling layouts for Glamour magazine, Muscle & Fitness magazine, Ironman, HERS, Oxygen, Flex magazine, Fitness, Musclemag, and Planet Muscle.

Marie's statement comes one day after Candice Houlihan, a former stripper in Boston, admitted to having an affair with A-Rod. Houlihan said that she had sex with A-Rod twice in Boston, the first time while A-Rod's wife Cynthia Rodriguez was pregnant with their first child.

On Monday, Cynthia Rodriguez filed for divorce after six years of marriage. The divorce filing came days after rumors spread that A-Rod was having an affair with Madonna. It was reported that A-Rod had many nighttime visits to Madonna's apartment in Manhattan.

Days later, it was reported that Cynthia flew to Paris for a getaway with Lenny Kravitz. Both parties say that the getaway was not romantic.
