U.S. Warns Iran about Missile Testing, Won’t Hesitate to Protect Interests

In response to the recent missile testing in Iran the United States has increased its security in the area and threatened the country with quick action if they continued to carry out further testing.

Speaking at a stop in the former Soviet republic of Georgia, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice issued a stern warning to Iran stating, “We take very strongly our obligation to defend our allies and we intend to do that.”

Rice was responding to Iran’s testing of nine missiles on Wednesday and their follow up testing Thursday. Those tests have been seen as muscle-flexing by Iran in an attempt to put Israel on notice that any strike on Iran would be met with a counterstrike.

Part of the missile testing conducted by Iran included the updated Shahab-3 missile which has a range of more than 1,200 miles, far enough to hit Tel Aviv.

According to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards air force commander Gen Hoseyn Salami, “Our hands are always on the trigger and our missiles are ready for launch.”
