Matt Jones, Jaguars Receiver, Arrested on Felony Drug Charges
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones was arrested Thursday after he was found cutting up cocaine with a credit card in his car. Authorities approached the vehicle and drew his handgun after Jones didn’t put up his hands.
The car was searched and a plastic bag filled with a white substance was found. The substance tested positive for cocaine.
Jones, 25, Jared Hicks and Benjamin Cook were arrested. Jones faces felony drug charges while the two other men were charges with misdemeanors.
Jones will be arraigned Friday. Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver said he doesn’t know any details of the case but is “trying to investigate that now.”
