Beneath the granite mountains of the Paine Massif there is a great deal of wildlife: guanacos (relatives of llamas), rheas, Andean condors, pumas, Patagonian foxes and a wide variety of birds. This tour is a special Photo Expedition with Eliot Cohen.

Located in a remote region of southwestern Brazil, this region is a wilderness of pristine wetlands, tranquil rivers and lakes, lush gallery forests and vast savannahs punctuated by tropical palms. See giant anteaters, marsh deer, and perhaps the elusive jaguar. Toco toucans and the endangered hyacinth macaw are on the list of spectacular birds nearby. Also explore Iguazú Falls, with thrillingly close views of its cascades from every bend of the trail. This tour is a special Photo Expedition with Don Cohen.

South America: Extreme Landscapes ~ Photo Odyssey

Call for Dates

Photography was the key to this 2-person, 22-day, multi-landscape expedition. The travelers wanted us to organize a spectacular photographic odyssey that would take in the greatest shooting opportunities in Latin America. They loved to hike, and were willing to rough it sometimes – as long as it could be followed with some luxury accommodations. Our itinerary took in Torres Del Paine National Park in Patagonia, remote Sea Lion Island in the Falklands, Chile’s starkly beautiful Atacama Desert, and a final stop at Easter Island. They photographed guanacos, gentoos, elephant seals, and nesting albatross; icebergs, calving glaciers, and three kinds of penguins; volcanoes, salt flats and geyser fields; Andean flamingos and stone moai.
