Pakistani Soldiers Killed by Militants Near Afghan Border

At least seven Pakistani soldiers were killed in an attack launched by militants near the border with Afghanistan.

The soldiers had been traveling in a convoy when the militants struck with rocket-propelled grenades and gunfire just outside the city of Hangu, in north-west Pakistan.

Three militants were said to have been killed after soldiers returned fire.

Pakistani military forces have attempted to increase its presence in the North West Frontier Province, an area known for its Pro-Taliban militants.
